Who are we?
Lyanthe automates the pre-accounting process for accounting and bookkeeping firms in the Netherlands and Belgium, from the very first incoming invoice to the final posting in your accounting software.
We are based in Echt, in central Limburg, and we are growing fast. Our culture is open, entrepreneurial and no-nonsense: people who take initiative and take ownership feel right at home here.
We are not a scanning company that happens to have posting software, nor a solution that happens to digitise as well. We are built around exactly one problem: how do you get invoices from receipt to posting as quickly, accurately and scalably as possible — without the firm having to grow in headcount?
History
Lyanthe was founded in 2012 from within an accounting firm, with one clear mission: to make the work in the pre-accounting phase smarter. Not dreamed up on a drawing board, but born from the day-to-day practice of people who knew first-hand what it is like to drown in invoices.
What started as a solution for digitising invoices grew in 2015 into a platform that could automatically process documents and post them to a range of accounting packages. In 2019 came the next step: the introduction of Robotic Accounting, a central rules engine that lets firms automate their pre-accounting process across all their clients' administrations — not configured again for every client, but set up properly once and applied everywhere.
Today Lyanthe processes thousands of documents every day for hundreds of firms in the Netherlands and Belgium, with in-depth knowledge of sectors such as agriculture, construction, healthcare and hospitality. The foundation laid in 2012 — from practice, for practice — has never changed. Only the platform around it has become more powerful with every step.
Vision & ambition
The accounting profession is under structural pressure: margins are shrinking, clients expect more, and good staff are scarce. Automation is therefore no longer a luxury but a necessity. Our vision is that pre-accounting is the foundation on which the rest of the firm can build — the more uniform and reliable that foundation, the more room there is for advisory work, growth and satisfied clients.
Existing scanning and recognition solutions have increased an employee's processing capacity from around 35 to roughly 90 invoices per hour. But because those solutions cannot read every invoice correctly, a considerable round of verification and correction is always needed — and the ceiling of around 90 invoices per hour remains unbreakable.
Our ambition is to break through that ceiling for good. By delivering 100% recognition as the foundation, Lyanthe enables an average firm to process more than 250 invoices per hour — with proven performance of well over 1,000 per hour. Not as a one-off record, but as the new standard for what a firm can expect from its pre-accounting process.
And we think bigger than today. The accounting profession is changing, and we want to help shape that change — not follow it.

Where other solutions get stuck as soon as an administration deviates — a different chart of accounts, no RGS, a different accounting package — Lyanthe brings overview and control. Our Matching Service automatically translates central posting rules to every administration, regardless of how it is set up.

Lyanthe was developed by people who know first-hand what it is like to drown in invoices. That practical knowledge is in every part of the platform, from digitisation to the sector-specific posting logic for agriculture, construction, healthcare and hospitality.
